Classification of Oil Measuring Cans
Oil measuring cans (standard metal gauges) are mainly classified by accuracy class, volume specification and structure type. They serve as key instruments for handover metering of oil products and verification of fuel dispensers.
I. Classification by Accuracy Class
1. Class I Measuring Can
With the highest accuracy, it is mainly used by metrological verification institutions to calibrate Class II measuring cans, flow meters, etc., as a standard transfer instrument.
2. Class II Measuring Can
Commonly used in gas stations and oil depots to verify the accuracy of fuel dispensers, tank trucks and flow meters, serving as the main instrument for on-site metering.
II. Classification by Volume Specification
Small size: 1L, 5L, 10L, 20L, mostly used for laboratory and small-flow precision calibration.
Medium size: 50L, 100L, the most commonly used for on-site verification in oil depots and gas stations.
Large size: 200L, 500L, 1000L, used for calibration of large-flow flow meters and large oil tanks.
III. Classification by Structure Type
1. Vertical Measuring Can
Standard common type with small footprint, convenient operation and the highest universality.
2. Horizontal Measuring Can
Larger in volume, mostly used for large-flow oil metering and calibration.
3. Vehicle-Mounted Measuring Can
Movable with vehicles, suitable for field and tank truck on-site metering.
4. Insulated Measuring Can
Reduces temperature influence, suitable for high-precision metering in cold and high-temperature environments.
IV. Classification by Material
Stainless Steel Measuring Can: Corrosion-resistant, suitable for gasoline, diesel oil and chemical oil products.
Carbon Steel Measuring Can: Low cost, mostly used for non-corrosive oil products such as crude oil and heavy oil
