Installation and Maintenance of Loading Arms

I. The installation and maintenance of loading arms are crucial steps to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of industrial fluids. This precision equipment requires strict adherence to operating specifications during installation to guarantee its stability and sealing performance, thus preventing fluid leakage and safety accidents.
When installing loading arms, it must be carried out in accordance with corresponding standards. Special attention should be paid when connecting the loading arm to the dispensing platform. It is essential to ensure that the connection between the dispensing platform and the loading arm is firm.
During the installation of loading arms, first connect the horizontal short pipe to the base flange on the dispensing platform, and then connect the horizontal short pipe to the lifting arm. After these preparations are completed, start installing the balancer and then connect the tie rod of the balancer.
When installing loading arms, particular attention should be paid to adjusting the balancer to within the specified range.
During installation, it should also be noted that each flange surface must be cleaned to avoid any substances affecting the installation of the loading arm. Meanwhile, if there is a sealing groove, the O-ring must be installed before making the connection.
II. Maintenance is equally important as it is related to the service life and stable performance of the loading arms. Maintenance work includes regularly checking whether the connection parts of the loading arms are tight, whether the seals are intact, and whether there are any damages or corrosions on the surface. In addition, it is necessary to regularly clean the inside and outside of the loading arms to prevent debris and dirt from affecting their working efficiency. During the maintenance process, if any abnormal conditions, such as leakage or looseness, are found, immediate measures should be taken to repair them to avoid the problem from worsening.
When obvious leakage is found at the joint of the loading arm, work should be stopped and the remaining oil drained. Then, disassemble and inspect. Generally, first check whether the sealing ring is aged or worn and whether the sealing surface is damaged. If damaged, restoration measures such as grinding should be taken. If the mating dimensions and accuracy cannot be guaranteed after grinding, replacement is required. Generally, for easily damaged and easily aged parts, a certain number of spare parts are provided in the factory packaging for users' convenience.
When the rotation is not flexible, check whether the rotating mating parts are well lubricated. If it is caused by lack of oil, lubricating oil (grease) should be added regularly (once every quarter) according to the required amount.
For any disassembly and reassembly, regardless of whether parts are replaced, a pressure test should be carried out according to the factory inspection standard after reassembly. The specific specification is that the test pressure is 0.6 Mpa. Rotate each rotating part. If it can achieve flexible operation without leakage, it can be considered qualified and put back into use.
Inspect the appearance of the loading arm every six months and repair the areas where the surface is rusted or the paint is damaged.
The safety operating procedures and related instructions for loading arms are formulated to ensure the safe operation of loading arms. This document is only for unloading personnel to study and follow. If uncommon problems are encountered during the normal operation of loading arms, or problems occur with components without special instructions or those that are complex, please contact the manufacturer in time to discuss solutions.
