The disassembly and assembly of loading arms is a task that requires careful operation. To ensure safety and the normal operation of the equipment, here are some key considerations for you to learn:
Before replacing the loading arm, ensure that the construction site is properly prepared, construction equipment is complete, construction permits are obtained, and the old loading arm is disassembled.
The old loading arm is connected by flanges. When removing the bolts with tools, mark which position they are used for.
After the disassembly of the loading arm, blind flanges should be used to seal the open flanges of the pipeline; this is to ensure that the sealing surface is not damaged. The removed loading arm should be marked with its equipment number and pressure to facilitate the corresponding reinstallation of the new loading arm.
Move the removed loading arm to the vicinity of the trestle railing for easy hoisting and replacement.
Dismantle the supporting columns of the old loading arm, clean up all flammable materials near the old loading arm, and equip with fire extinguishers to ensure construction safety.
Remove the old butterfly valve and connecting pipes.
Install a blind flange at the old valve to isolate the old pipeline.
Remove the old DN100 pipeline and move it to a reasonable area for prefabrication.
Since there are many oil pipelines under the trestle, the hot work area should be arranged on the upper part of the trestle as much as possible.
Minimize the number of hot work operations during the demolition work. Firefighters should be on standby.
When installing the loading arm, an asbestos rubber gasket should be added at the flange connection and coated with butter to ensure reliable sealing. First, install the main body of the outer arm of the loading arm, then install the balancing device, lift the outer arm to fix the connecting plate of the balancer pull rod in the adjustment slot of the inclined plate. All rotating parts of the pins and the spring balancer need to be coated with lubricating oil before installation and use. When installing the loading arm, special attention should be paid to adjusting the balancer to within the specified range. You should also pay attention to the acceptance of details of the loading arm products, and even small parts such as screws should be properly stored and used.
