What is the floating oil discharge device

The floating oil discharge device utilizes the sedimentation principle of water and impurities under gravity to prioritize the delivery of clean fuel from the upper layer. One end of the device is connected to the oil outlet short pipe at the bottom of the oil tank, while the other end is suspended below the liquid surface together with a float. It floats up and down as the liquid level rises and falls, always extracting fuel from the surface layer. Due to the sedimentation of water and impurities under the gravitational field, the water content and impurity level in the upper fuel layer are always lower than those in the bottom layer, thus ensuring the delivery of cleaner fuel.

The floating oil discharge device is suitable for various horizontal and vertical storage tanks. One end of it is connected to the oil outlet pipe at the bottom of the oil tank, and the other end is suspended below the liquid surface together with a float. It floats up and down with the liquid level, consistently extracting fuel from the surface layer. Owing to the sedimentation of water and impurities under gravity, the upper fuel layer contains less water and fewer impurities than the bottom layer. Therefore, using the floating oil discharge device to extract fuel from the upper layer ensures the supply of cleaner fuel and extends the service life of downstream purification equipment.

The floating oil discharge device is applicable to fuel receiving and supply systems that require high oil delivery quality, have short oil sedimentation time, or involve frequent turnover of oil tank equipment. As a fixed oil receiving and discharging device installed inside storage tanks, it is suitable for liquids such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel, and engine oil. Thus, it is widely used in oil depots, refineries, civil aviation facilities, seaports, docks, and other oil storage locations.
