BC-TC Breakaways Valve

BY-TC Breakaways are a type of emergency breakaway device designed to prevent damage and spills in fueling applications. They are commonly used in fuel dispensing systems for gasoline, diesel, and other petroleum products.

BY-TC Breakaways consists of two halves, the valve and the sleeve, that are connected to the fuel hose on either side of the breakaway. In the event of an accidental pull-away, the breakaway will disconnect, automatically closing the valve on both halves to prevent fuel from spilling out of the disconnected hose. This helps to prevent environmental damage, reduce cleanup costs, and enhance safety at fueling stations.

BY-TC Breakaways are designed to connect between the dispensing hose and nozzle in fueling applications. The breakaway is comprised of two halves, a valve half and a receptacle half, that connect to each other using a threaded connection.

To install the breakaway, the valve half is first attached to the dispensing hose, while the receptacle half is attached to the fueling nozzle. The two halves are then threaded together, forming a secure and leak-proof connection between the hose and nozzle.

During normal operation, the breakaway remains securely connected and allows fuel to flow from the dispenser through the hose and nozzle. However, in the event of an accidental pull-away, the breakaway will separate into two halves, closing off both the hose and the nozzle to prevent fuel spills and minimize damage to equipment.

After a breakaway event, the two halves of the Breakaway can be easily reconnected by threading them back together. No special tools or replacement parts are required, and the breakaway can be put back into service quickly and easily.
