Corrosion requirements for oil delivery arms

Apr 14, 2023

The oil transfer arm, also known as the marine oil transfer arm or the marine liquid loading and unloading arm, is an equipment installed on the dock to complete the loading and unloading tasks of liquid petrochemical products. It has the ability to adapt to different tides, freeboards, and ship movements, and is an efficient and safe oil loading and unloading equipment.
So let's briefly understand the anti-corrosion requirements of the oil delivery arm:
1. The protective coating should be a qualified product within the validity period, and the color and type of the coating should meet the technical requirements.
2. Before painting, the surface of each component should be cleaned of dirt such as rust, oxide skin, welding slag, burrs, oil and water.
3. The movable ladder requires overall galvanizing treatment (including handrails and frame structures) followed by two coats of topcoat to achieve a beautiful appearance, anti-corrosion, and durability.
The above is the brief operation process of the oil transfer arm. During use, regular maintenance and inspection are required to prevent some dirt from corroding its surface and affecting its effectiveness.
