Principles for selecting loading and unloading arm

The loading and unloading arm is a key equipment used for loading and unloading liquid media in the petrochemical field, featuring high safety, flexibility, and environmental protection advantages. It is a telescopic and movable pipe fitting device that connects rigid pipelines through rotating joints to realize the transmission of liquid media between train and automobile tank cars and storage and transportation pipelines. Its core advantage lies in replacing old-fashioned hoses, thereby improving safety and flexibility. Then, do you know how to select loading and unloading arms? Let's learn about it today to help you better choose a suitable loading and unloading arm. The following are several common selection principles:
(1) When loading and unloading liquefied petroleum gas or liquefied gas materials, a closed loading and unloading arm must be used.
(2) When the material is a volatile liquid and the volatile gas has certain recycling value, a closed loading and unloading arm must be used.
(3) Under normal temperature storage and loading/unloading conditions, if the material is a volatile liquid that is flammable, explosive, polluting to the environment, or harmful to the human body, a closed loading and unloading arm must be used.
(4) Under normal temperature storage and loading/unloading conditions, if the saturated vapor pressure of the material is close to or exceeds 0.1MPa (absolute pressure), a closed loading and unloading arm must be used.
(5) For corrosive materials, in order to prevent material splashing or ensure personal safety, a closed loading and unloading arm should be used.
(6) When unloading tank cars or ships, if gas-phase pressurization unloading or vacuum pumping is adopted, a closed loading and unloading arm must be used.
(7) For loading and unloading of general liquid materials with low volatility and no harm, an open loading and unloading arm can be used.
(8) When loading low-volatile liquid materials, an inserted short vertical pipe form can be adopted, such as a 90° flat outlet or a 45° inclined outlet.
