The liquefied gas loading arm is a specialized piece of equipment used for loading and unloading liquefied gases. It typically consists of several components, including a swivel joint, inner arm, outer arm, vertical pipe, and balance device. The working principle is to transport liquid substances to the required loading or unloading locations via pipes. The telescoping arm is used to adjust the length of the arm to suit different loading and unloading needs.   what should be considered during the loading process of a liquefied gas loading arm?

1. Precautions for Using Liquefied Gas Loading Arms

Before using the liquefied gas loading arm, a detailed inspection is required to ensure the equipment is in good condition.

During the loading and unloading of liquefied gas, the inserted arm should be vertically inserted to the bottom of the tank. The insertion and withdrawal speed should not exceed 1 meter per second.

When operating the outer arm, do not apply excessive force. The force should be applied evenly.

During operation, do not use the balance device as a force point.

When the loading arm's interface is connected to the tank truck, the valve on the arm should not be opened.

Do not start the loading and unloading system, especially the valves of the arm assembly, without understanding the working principle and operation steps.

During operation, it is crucial to prevent static electricity, friction, or collision from generating sparks. Therefore, connecting the grounding wire for static electricity is very important.

2. Maintenance and Care of Liquefied Gas Loading Arms

When towing the arm: Apply even force to avoid impact.

After work is completed: Push the arm to the fuel station side and elevate the arm to a 60° position so that the balance device is in a relaxed state.

Regular inspections: On-site maintenance personnel should regularly inspect and maintain the arm, checking the tightness of the bolts on the swivel joint and all connecting parts. If any are loose, tighten them promptly.

Lubrication: Regularly apply lubricating oil to the pivot points of each pin and the spring balance. The swivel joint should be lubricated with lithium-based grease at least every two years, and the spring cylinder should also be greased every two years.

Protecting the swivel joint: It is recommended not to open the swivel joint casually. If it must be opened, take care to protect the sealing surfaces and seals, ensuring they are not damaged and are kept clean.

Checking for leaks: If a leak is found after prolonged use of the loading arm, the leaking rotary coupler should be disassembled, cleaned, maintained, and its seals replaced.

In the petrochemical industry, liquefied gas loading arms are indispensable equipment that ensures the safe and efficient transfer of liquid substances.
