Folding ladder steps are engineered to prevent foot slippage, a leading cause of accidental falls. Most steps are equipped with raised anti-slip patterns (such as diamond-shaped ridges or grid-like textures) that enhance friction between the sole and the step surface-even when the steps are wet, dusty, or contaminated with oil (a common scenario in industrial settings). In high-demand fields like chemical plants or food processing facilities, steps may also be coated with wear-resistant, non-toxic anti-slip materials (e.g., rubberized coatings or polyurethane overlays). These materials not only improve grip but also resist corrosion from chemicals or frequent cleaning, ensuring long-term effectiveness.
